Yummy, Yummy, In My Tummy!

Jackson is such a great eater! So far, he's loved everything he's tried, except the first time he tried bananas. He made a face like he had just eaten something very sour, and made a gagging sound every so often. I think it was just because it was the first sweet food he'd ever eaten. He's been fine since then, though, and now loves bananas just as much as veggies.

Jackson is a big U of L fan! Doesn't he look so adorable in his jersey? Even if you're a UK fan, you've got to agree that he looks pretty darn cute. Jackson loves cheering on the Cards, and hopes they make it to a bowl game this year (he really wants to go).

Jumping Jackson

Jackson LOVES jumping in his Johnny Jump Up, though Daddy calls it his "Jackson Jump Up"! I think he would jump all day if we let him. He especially likes to jump to music. They have something similar to this in the nursery at church, called a Jumperoo (though it's more stationary), which he also loves to jump in. In fact, he keeps all the other babies entertained.

Cherokee Park

Over the long Labor Day weekend, we went Cherokee Park. We had a lot of fun walking the trails and enjoying nature.

Jackson was a little out of it, since he had just woken up from a nap.

As you can tell, Jackson could care less that his picture is being taken.

Selena & Bekah

Jackson's friends, Selena & Bekah, came over last weekend to play. They had a great time hanging out and playing. I'm sure they'll have even more fun once Jackson gets a little bit bigger and can play more.

Starting Solids

Jackson started on solids two weeks ago. First he started with rice cereal, which he thought was alright. This past week, we gave him sweet potatoes, which he absolutely loves! He can't get enough of them. He will be trying squash this evening for the first time, and carrots later in the week. He is such a great eater! Look Great-Grandpa, Jackson has a "soldier's bowl"!

4 Months!

I can't believe Jackson is already 4 months old! He has changed so much, and keeps us entertained by showing off his talents daily. At his 4 month checkup, he weighed 15 lbs. 12 oz. (60th percentile), and was 25 1/2 inches long (75th percentile). He also has three teeth that are trying to come in.

Jackson sitting in his rocking chair. What a handsome little man! By the way, his onesie reads, "If I don't sleep. . . .nobody sleeps!" Isn't that the truth! We really can't complain though, he's usually a really good sleeper. He's been sleeping through the night since he was about 2 months old.

His Shirt Says it All

Though Jackson loves to "talk", it isn't always so easy to understand what he's trying to say. In order to help others understand him a little better, he wears some of his favorite shirts to get his point across.

Jackson wants everyone to know just how much he loves his Daddy. They love to hang out and play together.

He really doesn't mean to brag, but who can blame the girls? His Mama certainly "digs" him.

He Can Sleep Anywhere

When Jackson's tired, he's tired. He falls asleep on the couch. . . . . .

on Daddy's knee, sucking Daddy's thumb. . . . .

and even in the pool. Yes, he's really asleep. We couldn't believe it at first either. What a silly little boy.

Exersaucer

Jackson has been having a blast playing in the exersaucer he borrowed from his friends Bekah & Selena. He cried the first couple of times we put him in it (probably over stimulation), but absolutely loves it now.

Going to the Pool!

We went to our church's pool party/potluck on July 30th. This was Jackson's first time in "the big pool". He had a great time swimming with Mommy, Daddy, Grandaddy, & Grammy. He also got to play with his friends Bekah & Selena.
We thought Jackson looked like a little pea pod all wrapped up in his towel. He was so tired that he fell asleep in the car before we got to the end of the street. Doesn't he look so cute in just his little swim diaper (which was so big that we had to roll it over)?

Tummy Time

Tummy time is getting better all the time. Jackson still doesn't like to be on his tummy for very long, but he'll at least play for a little while. He has been reaching for, and grabbing his toys a lot more lately too. We can't believe how quickly he is growing and developing. We are so head over heels in love with him!

3 Months Old/ Kitchen Renovation

July 17, 2006

Today Jaackson turned 3 months old! Daddy gave him his first lesson on how to use tools, especially POWER TOOLS, during our kitchen renovation. Daddy would love for his first words to be "power tools". Keep up the good work boys!

Summer of Weddings

Shane & Erica's Wedding

We attended Shane & Erica's wedding on July 1, 2006. Jackson had a blast on the dance floor! He got to dance with Mommy & the beautiful bride. What a lucky little boy!

Sarah & Lucas' Wedding

Jackson attended his cousin Sarah's wedding on May 27, 2006. Grandpa Nickel (above) had a great time hanging out with Jackson at the reception. Uncle John (below) held Jackson for the first time. What a momentous occasion! We all had a blast!

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July! Jackson celebrated the day at Grandma & Grandpa Nickel's house. Everyone fussed over him all day (nothing new). Unfortunately, he missed the fireworks, because he was too busy eating. Oh well, he'll be more interested next year anyway. Doesn't he look too cute in his Old Navy flag shirt?!

Baby Einstein

Jackson loves to play with his Baby Einstein gym. So far, it's his favorite past time, other than swinging on the hammock with Daddy, going for a walk, and cuddling.
