First Haircut!

Jackson got his first haircut on Saturday, May 19th, at Big League Haircuts. He's been needing one for a while, but ust never got around to doing it. He was such a good boy, and sat in the chair all by himself. We were the goofy first time parents who took lots of pictures to commemorate this "big event".

Ummm. . . what's going on?

Oh, this isn't so bad after all.
(He's really watching something on t.v.)

What a big boy!

Almost finished.

Our handsome, happy boy!

One Year Old Pictures

We decided to get some professional pictures taken for Jackson's first birthday. He did such a great job for the photographer, and we were really happy with the results. Isn't he just such a cutie pie? (We actually got these taken around his birthday, I've just been terrible about updating lately.)

Baby model pose.

Scrunchie face!

Should this be, "Yeah, I'm happy!", or "Roar, I'm a monster."?

Yeah, I'm 1!

Our cute family.

As happy as can be.

Raise the roof!

Handsome little man.

Gatlinburg

Over Derby weekend, we went to Gatlinburg with our friends, Chuck & Holly. We had a great time hanging out at the chalet, shopping, going to the Ripley's Aquarium, and playing mini-golf. We even saw a black bear down the road from our chalet; thankfully, we were in the car at the time.

Jackson and Daddy at the aquarium.
Jackson couldn't believe the size of the fish! Aaaaaaaaaaaa!

Captain Jackson!

Not so thrilled about being a deep sea diver.

Did I forget to mention we also stopped by Mars on our trip?

Jackson got to play (okay, watch) mini-golf for the first time.

I can't believe it! A hole in one?!

Just the boys.

Happy 1st Birthday! (Part II)

We also celebrated Jackson's birthday with our friends on April 21st. It was a smaller crowd, so Jackson wasn't as overwhelmed as the weekend before. He had a great time playing with his friends, opening presents, riding in his new wagon (thanks for the hand me down, Uncle John), and eating/playing with his cupcake (I finally convinced Josh).

Icing is YUMMY!

Mmmmmmm!

Showing off my "masterpiece".

Vroom! Watch out, here I come!

Happy 1st Birthday! (Part I)

Sorry it's taken me so long to post his birthday pictures, but we've been incredibly busy. On April 17th, Jackson turned one! Jackson has truly blessed our lives this past year!I'm so happy to see him growing, changing, learning, and exploring, but it's so bittersweet. He'll always be my baby. The Saturday before his birthday, April 14th, we celebrated with our family. Jackson had a great day, though was a little overwhelmed at times. He wasn't too crazy about his cake that I made, but I think it was just too big. I had suggested just giving him a cupcake, but Josh insisted that he have his very own cake.

Ummm. . . .what do I do with this?

I was very proud of the cakes I made.

Balloons are so much FUN!

Jackson just wanted to shred the tissue paper from one of his presents.
Whatever makes him happy and keeps him entertained.

Wow! What a big present!

I'm a cowboy! Yee-hah!

What a Happy Easter!

Jackson had a great first Easter! We were fortunate enough to spend it with lots of family. I can't believe that last year on Easter, we were getting ready to have a baby the next day! What a difference a year makes.

Looking through his Easter basket from Grammy & Granddaddy.

Two of my favorite men.

We went to Claudia Sander's for lunch with my family.
The best food ever!
Aren't we such a cute little family?

Playing at the table with Grammy.
Jackson loved eating the green beans, ham, chicken, mashed potatoes, and roll. Delicious!

Sitting with Grandaddy. He thought the place mats were kinda fun.

That night, we got the biggest surprise of the day; Jackson CRAWLED!
Sure, he's been walking for months, but he skipped crawling, so
this was certainly a momentous occasion. Way to go, Buddy!

11 Months!

Yeah, we got our camera back, and I started taking pictures right away (seriously, as soon as Josh took it out of the box)! Jackson just turned 11 months this past Saturday. He is getting to be such a big boy. He even went to the toddler room (instead of the nursery) at church for a little while on Sunday. He's really growing up.
Here are the latest stats on Jackson:
Jackson now has 6 teeth, 3 on the bottom, 3 on top.
He still LOVES taking baths (he'd stay all day if we let him).
He is a walking maniac.
He loves playing ball (throwing and catching in his lap).
He loves to play outside and go to the park to swing.
He likes white grape juice (not a big fan of apple juice).
He likes pretty much everything we give him to eat,
though especially loves chicken and green beans.
He gets into anything and everything he has access to.
He claps.
He makes the cutest little scrunched up face (anyone who has seen it agrees).

Can you see my teeth? At least the bottom ones?

Mommy can make anything into a game, even laundry.

First time playing outside since the weather's been nice.

All dressed up for church.

Cheese! Now you can see my teeth.

Uh-oh! Who left the bathroom door open?

More play time with Daddy. He's so much fun! He's my best buddy.

Wee! Has anybody seen Daddy?

Just an Update

Hi. Sorry I haven't been able to post any new pictures lately, but our camera was having issues (leaving white lines across pictures or cutting half the picture off), so we haven't been able to take any pictures for a while. Luckily, Josh researched the problem (can you believe it?), and found out there was a recall because of the exact same problem. We were very excited, since that meant we weren't going to have to buy a new one. We should be getting it back in a couple of days, and then I'm going to be snapping away like crazy. I can't believe my little baby boy is going to be 11 months old on Saturday! Only one more month until he's A YEAR OLD!! How bittersweet it is.

Happy Valentine's Day!

This year, Daddy was out of town for Valentine's Day. Fortunately, Jackson was my sweet, little Valentine. He got all dressed up, and we had a play date and dinner with my friend Carrie (whose husband was also out of town) and her daughter Anna (Jackson's girlfriend). We had a great time, though missed Daddy very much.

So cute, though so "big boy" looking. I can't believe it.

Jackson was SO excited to see Daddy when he got home. Daddy was so excited to give Jackson his Valentine's Day presents, Backyardigain Beanie Babies. I don't think Jackson could believe his eyes. He LOVES the Backyardigains!

"Which should I play with first? Decisions, decisions."
